Since 2012 Benno is involved in the adoption of open BIM standards at the dutch national road authority, Rijkswaterstaat. He is responsible for the international activities in the Rijkswaterstaat BIM implementation Program. He has launched a number of international activities regarding the development and adoption of open standards. He has initiated and managed the European project V-Con, setup the taskgroup “standardization of information” within CEDR (network of directors of national roads in Europe) and launched CEDR call for proposals “assetmanagement and BIM”.
